Matthew Jeffrey[2] "Matt" Honeycutt (born c.1973) was a resident of Fell's Church, Virginia and son of Mr. Honeycutt, who was deceased, and his Mrs. Honeycutt, who later remarried.
After learning of the existence of the supernatural from Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore, Matt helped save Elena during her short time as a vampire, and worked to protect the town from the dogs influenced by Katherine von Swartzschild, from the Old One known as Klaus, and from Shinichi, Masao and Inari, and the phantom Jealousy.
